ESET 359 Final Project

EMG Pac-Man

By utilizing a pair of EMGs, it becomes possible to generate a 2-bit signal with four possible combinations that can be used to control Pac-Man - the classic arcade game that typically requires four arrow keys to play.

Control Strategy

A distinct EMG corresponds to both the left and right arm biceps. The directional control table illustrates the manner in which a relaxed signal (0) and a flexed signal (1) are employed to govern the direction of Pac-Man.

Circuit Design

By utilizing an amplifier and a bandpass filter, the electrical signals originating from each bicep muscle are amplified and refined to a workable magnitude. Implementing two distinct configurations for each muscle facilitates the generation of a 2-bit signal from muscle contractions.

Software

Displayed here are the LabVIEW VI's front panel and block diagram utilized to translate processed EMG signals into keyboard button presses.
